Convergence on Zero
June 25-26, 2009
Convergence on Zero (www.convergenceonzero.org) is a free conference, June 25th and 26th at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC coordinated by the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales. Sir John Houghton (IPCC - Fourth Assessment Report) Colin Hines (The Green New Deal), and Paul Allen (Zero Carbon Britain) will discuss making the transition to zero carbon emissions. They will focus on tools to fix our broken systems and strengthen those that are still working. Solutions exist in energy, economics, construction and land-use, yet all need rapid roll-out to reduce our green house gas emissions to zero. The Convergence on Zero conference will be grounded within the Welsh experience of sustainability yet will focus on implementing solutions that are applicable to all communities in this time of change. The event is part of 2009 Wales Washington Cymru programme of events – honoring the history and contributions of Wales. For more information visit www.wales.com/smithsonian.
